For 26 years, Alicia Pritchett has found her passion in raising two adults, being immersed in technology, serving her community and her customers. Always learning, always a student and always interested in being the conduit that allows companies to become more efficient and more profitable.
As the lead for Media & Entertainment at Fastly, she has been instrumental in cultivating Fastly’s largest and most well-known streaming clients in the industry over the last 6+ years. When Fastly went public on the New York Stock Exchange in May 2019, Alicia stood on the podium next to Fastly’s Founder and CEO, Artur Bergman, to ring the Closing Bell to celebrate their First Day of Trading. She is a leader within Fastly’s Diversity & Inclusion Council which works in collaboration with other functions throughout the company to ensure integration and consideration of Inclusion and Diversity in policies, programs, practices and products. She also drives the Steering Committees for the Women’s ERG as well as the Black ERG.
Alicia is a Founder and serves as President of Women in Streaming Media (WSM), a global networking organization for women in the streaming media technology space. She has overseen growth from 50 to over 1000 women within 4 years. WSM’s mission is to increase diversity and give more visibility to women leaders within the streaming media industry. They create events to connect and educate women, open opportunities and visibility for them to advance their careers in technology, procure and extend access as speakers and provide a renowned formal mentorship program. They are often sought out from organizations like Amazon, Oracle, Disney Streaming Services, Hulu, Netflix, AT&T, Brightcove, ViacomCBS, Comcast, Wowza, Vimeo and other leaders in the industry to help place women in technology roles.
In July 2021, Alicia made history by becoming the first woman to be named to the Board of Directors for the Streaming Video Alliance, a global consortium of organizations dedicated to helping shape the future of streaming video through collaboration on documentation that addresses the critical challenges facing the industry. Alicia is Chair of the Alliance’s Live Streaming Working Group. She looks forward to helping steward the Alliance through a pivotal time in the industry.
Alicia speaks across the world on streaming trends, diversity, skills, talent and the future of technology. Her most recent webinar, “Diversity, Skills & Talent”, was built around the core challenge of creating a deep and inclusive grassroots pool of rich engineering talent for the future. It was published with IBC - International Broadcasting Convention as a leading industry trend.
