An Australian native, Dominic Glynn joined Pixar Animation Studios in 2006 for the worldwide digital cinema release of “Cars” and has since delivered 18 of Pixar's feature films to their big screen debut. Imaging and audio specialist, mathematician, and color scientist - Glynn is forever challenging assumptions of fidelity within standards bodies and the industry at large. He is currently leading Pixar’s endeavors in High Dynamic Range (HDR) mastering and exhibition, working on Pixar’s upcoming feature films “Luca,” releasing June 18, 2021 on Disney+ and “Turning Red,” releasing in March of 2022.
Prior to Pixar, Glynn worked as an engineer for a Swedish aerospace company as well as on several feature films around the world. He cites his love of mathematics, neurosciences, and beautiful images made by people + computers as early influences that made him want to enter his current line of work.
Glynn grew up in a small country town on the North coast of New South Wales, Australia. He followed his ears to an intensive music school in South Australia and the Elder Conservatorium of Music at the University of Adelaide. He earned his Masters in Engineering from the University of South Australia.
A self-proclaimed foodie who loves any kind of cheese, he still moonlights as a professional baroque violinist during his free time, and currently resides in Berkeley, California.
